APABA-DC Awards and Installation Dinner
We are pleased to invite you to the APABA-DC 2011 Awards and Installation Dinner. This year, while keeping with the traditions of our annual swearing in ceremony and keynote speaker, we have revamped the format of the event in several ways. First, to facilitate more networking, instead of our usual sit-down dinner, we will have various food stations located around the banquet hall to help ensure our attendees meet with their APABA-DC colleagues and friends throughout the evening. Second, we are pleased to include, for the first time, an awards component to our event. Our members continue to reach new heights and make significant contributions in the legal community, and this event is one example of how we will be increasing our efforts to recognize our membership’s many accomplishments. This year’s keynote speaker, presiding judge for our swearing in ceremony, and awards recipients are listed below: Keynote: Sri Srinivasan, Chair of O'Melveny & Myer's Appellate and Supreme Court Practice. Swearing-in Ceremony: The Honorable Florence Y. Pan, Associate Judge, D.C. Superior Court. Awards Recipients: Pioneer Award: Ivan Fong, General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for paving the way for the advancement of APA attorneys. Membership Award: The Honorable Florence Y. Pan, Associate Judge, D.C. Superior Court, for her outstanding service to APABA-DC. Rising Star Award: To Jessie Liu (Partner, Jenner & Block) and Sujit Raman (Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Maryland) for their achievement and commitment to APABA-DC.
